The only item they regularly unequip is the bow. It might look like she’s not wearing your stuff, but hand her a new item (even a potion or two) and it should redraw the equipped items again. If she really isn’t equipping them, try removing the items you gave, and handing them back again. She should re- equip the items at that point.
